Introducing the first Buttons and Bows Photography baby of 2012…..it’s a GIRL! Wishing everyone a very happy New Year!

The above images are just some of the ones that have been taking up space on my monitor since my last post. I’m finally starting to see daylight again… I have one remaining holiday order to fill and then I am done. All of my 2011 sessions have been photographed. Next week I will begin a much needed break full of R&R and time with my family.
If I have yet to contact you back about booking a session or package in 2012, you will be hearing from me soon. I apologize for the delay but it’s been all I could do to keep afloat with my 2011 clients during the holidays.
As mentioned in my previous entry, I am not booking additional 2012 dates at this time. I’ll be focusing on my duties as Contributing Editor and columnist at Professional Photographer Magazine, and also on launching an exciting new project I hope to share more about in Q3 2012. It’s something I’ve worked very hard on for the last several years and I can’t wait to see all that time and energy come to fruition!
I wish everyone much health, happiness and wealth in the New Year – and a magical holiday season with those you love!
Thank you so much for your support in 2011 —

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated the site. (School was just letting out in my last post, and college football season has just kicked off for this one.) But then again it’s been awhile since I’ve been able to do a lot of things. My clients can attest this has been a very bumpy summer for Buttons & Bows. I’m still having several medical issues relating to our Chinese drywall house, and not only am I incredibly behind on 2011 processing and orders, I had to refund several summer / fall / holiday clients and refer them onto other local photographers. My 2011 books have been closed since early spring, but I will not be booking any new 2012 clients (beyond what is already on the books) for the time being…
That said, time keeps on ticking and babies keep on being born. Here’s a few photos of what I did on my summer (“not so much of a“) vacation.
Thanks to my clients for being so understanding and supportive this year! Word has it Santa is going to reward you all very well…

The month of May has been a whirlwind. My “right-hand” of two years graduated from college and went off into the big, bad world to make her mark. Many of you had the honor to meet her during your sessions and I think it goes for all of us when I say she will be GREATLY missed!
My oldest son also collected quite a bit of hardware before leaving the first grade behind – in addition to being his school’s “student of the month”, he also won the school math award, an award for reading over 200 books this past school year, a best author award, and numerous certificates. I couldn’t be more proud of him!
And as if all that was not enough, my grandmother just had two heart surgeries this week in Oklahoma. I’m happy to report the results were quoted as “fantastic” and she’s back home with my mom resting and healing.

Spring sessions, orders, processing, and birth announcements are keeping Photoshop burning wee into the night hours – and my Memorial Day “holiday” will be spent mostly chained to my laptop as I desperately try to catch up…
A special thanks to those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend – and summer – everyone!

In my last post I celebrated Buttons and Bows Photography, LLC, turning five years old this month. And now I celebrate another big milestone – in a few short weeks on June 1st, my husband and I will have been married FIFTEEN YEARS! Last week we took our first vacation sans-kids in five years (well, since our tenth anniversary) and stole a few days in the Florida Keys to celebrate. My mom spoiled our boys rotten here in Orlando while we soaked up the sun and told everyone to lighten up.
All all orders / proofing / and gallery releases were put on hold during our time away (because we purposely took nothing but our phones), but will now resume. If you contacted Buttons and Bows during this time and did not receive a reply, this is why. I’m contacting everyone back in the order contact was received. If you don’t hear from me, please check in and make sure I received your call or e-mail! I’m back to shooting this weekend so things are guaranteed to be chaos for a few more days…
It’s not having what you want – it’s wanting what you’ve got!
Happy Easter —

April is a very special month for Buttons and Bows Photography – it marks five years of photographing pregnancies, newborns, babies, and toddlers in Orlando and Tampa Bay. The above photo was from my very first non-friend / non-family session in April 2006. Hard to believe that baby is almost kindergarten-age now!
Recently a printing company asked me to make a demo book of one of their new products, so I used it to showcase five years of my photography.

And before I forget, I have a fun new product (recently made for me as a demos) that I can now offer my clients – multiple-block floating gallery wraps!

They come complete with a sturdy shelf hanging system on the back – ready-to-hang on the wall immediately upon arrival.
Spring has sprung at Buttons and Bows! Stay tuned for another “latest-session roundup” soon…
